Now is the time to nourish and care for yourself. To strengthen your body and immune system. To bolster your inner flame, that foundational pilot light; the life-gate fire deep within your belly that carries you through the winter. Now is the time to remember to breathe, to take a moment for yourself amidst the busyness, a moment for calm and rest, so that you can move steadily and centered-ly through this season. It's time for your acupuncture tune-up! And perhaps some massage and/or stocking up on some good herbs for the season too... Whether you are feeling great, fighting something off, or recovering from something, I strongly encourage you to reach out for some support this season. (I have air purifiers and extra masks when needed!) And here and here are some more tips on keeping healthy (in Fall and Winter), if you'd like to take a look.
One of you said to me recently, after a session, "Acupuncture teaches my body to release." I love this so much, and it inspires me to finally (after all these years) start writing down the beautiful and amazing things people say about their acupuncture journeys-- so please keep sharing these profound thoughts and experiences. And you would like to give the gift of a healing session to a loved one (or yourself) I do have gift certificates available- let me know if you would like one!
Before I go~ I'm reading the book Hope for Cynics: The Surprising Science of Human Goodness, by Jamil Zaki, and I really like it so far. He talks about how cultivating hope (he recommends being what he calls a hopeful skeptic), even in the face of so much suffering, is actually a more informed choice than being cynical. Being hopeful also leads to greater health and happiness, more success in work and relationships, increased social action, and much more. During this wintery dark, may we all feel sparks of hope lighting up our hearts and spirits, kindling for a brighter future...
As we deepen into this darkest season, I am sending you Winter Solstice Blessings... May the darkness be nourishing and restorative, and may you always feel the radiant light within you and all around you, warming and strengthening your heart, belly, and soul; illuminating the path before you; glowing in the faces you meet; twinkling and shining in the sky above you; and bringing joy to surround you. May our world be filled with peace and justice, hope and healing, liberation and love.
