Dear all,
Just a gentle reminder, as we head into this holiday season... please make sure to also make time to nourish and care for yourself. Remember that the body at this time of year needs more rest. There are many holiday treats around-- what treat does your soul crave? Is it a long walk in the woods? A hot cup of tea, or a steaming bath (or footbath) with essential oils? An intimate conversation with an old friend? Writing in your journal or listening to an old record?
Time spent receiving acupuncture or massage is time invested in deep healing on all levels, deep rest and nourishment for you. I've been loving watching the bees loving the lavender at Manzanita, and sometimes when I'm laying with acupuncture needles in (before they take me down into that magical sleep), I imagine a beehive of healing; little healing bees harmoniously working together within me to repair and sustain all the different miraculous systems that thrive in all of us to keep us alive and well...
Thanksgiving, the holiday, has vastly different meanings for different people. That being said, I would like to acknowledge how valuable it feels to me to pause and take note of all the myriad gratitudes, some of which I may forget at times. It's so easy (and also important) to be aware of all that isn't going right in our world... and yet each day brings the most miraculous gifts- a breath, a song, a tree, a smile, persimmons, movement... so many profound blessings that make up life. On that note, and as this month marks my 16th anniversary here at Manzanita, I want to say how truly very thankful I am for each of you! What an amazing gift it is to be able to practice this medicine with you, to build healing and health and well-being together. And also so wonderful to get to know You, as a human being, in all your gorgeous glory.
I deeply appreciate you.
With so much love and heartfelt gratitude to you,
and prayers for healing for our world,
Shoshana
