Going for a walk in the hills, my head is swirling with This, That, The Other Thing, Plan, Do, Figure Out, Worry.
But then Nature whispers a simpler message. Green. Trees. Rock. Expanse. Shadow. Sunlight. Birdsong. Water Flowing. Breeze Caressing. Earth Embracing. Breath. Heartbeat. Belly. Feet. This Moment. This Place. Be. Feel. Heal. Return.
Today I am sad about wildfires and pollution and not such great air quality, and some other things too. I am grateful that I can still go outside, and for a delicious dinner, a good book, family, healing, and many more blessings. How are you feeling, in this very moment? What grounds you and centers you, right now? What are your practices and rituals for returning, to your true self and your inner compass, to your beautiful place in this interwoven and connected Life? How will you sync up with the life rhythms that will sustain you and renew you?
Each day I notice more signs of the changing season. Acorns on the ground, leaves starting to turn color and fall, monarch butterflies sharing their beauty and grace. This time of year teaches us to live in the breath of this precious moment, this here, this now. Though we honor our past that brought us here, and we are always moving into/creating our future, yet we must continually learn how to release the burdens of both past and future, and find sustenance in the living breath of now.
