In a world where we are so regularly faced with heartbreak, devastation, and pain, it can sometimes feel irresponsible, frivolous, or just plain difficult to tune in to joy, hope, and delight, or even to just "notice the good" in our lives. And yet, I strongly believe that it is in fact not only revolutionary but absolutely essential to our health and well-being, as well as our potency and efficacy if we want to create change, that we do just that. Finding, expanding, centering and grounding in the good- joy, love, gratitude, health and healing, care, abundance, hope-- helps us create strength and resilience, and supports us as we navigate this life journey.

Now is the time of year where we consider the Earth element, which connects us with savoring the sweetness and nourishment of the harvest, centering us and grounding us in our reciprocal relationship with the Earth. We also at this time enter into the time of the Metal element (this is like the precious minerals in the Earth), which connects us with themes of the breath, the preciousness (and precariousness) of the present moment, inspiration and exhalation, grief and letting go. (For more on these elements, seasons, etc, please see my blog archive!) It is a time for reveling in the abundance of the harvest, and also beginning to store what is needed for Fall and Winter nourishment and strength.
